Spring-mass system

This page documents the spring-mass system that is used as a running example throughout the text. A description of the dynamics of this system are presented in Chapter 3 - System Modeling, Example 3.1. This page contains a description of the system, including the models and commands used to generate some of the plots in the text.

Note: the Python code on this page makes use of the Python Control Systems Library, an open source software toolbox for control systems analysis.
